Rangiora's Div 1 women's team has started training on Wednesdays nights and the Div 1 men will start training early March on Thursday nights.  If you would like to train with and trial for any of these teams email the club for more details.

Training times for other teams will be announced soon, along with details on how to register as a player, coach or umpire for the 2022 season.  Keep an eye on the Rangiora Hockey Club Facebook page for information.

New registration system

This year, there is a new registration system being launched by HockeyNZ in conjunction with Canterbury Hockey.  This new system will allow players to register and pay subs online (or off line) and will require all players (Junior and Senior) to register in order to be allocated to a team.

PARENTS - please note that you will be required to create an account in the system in YOUR NAME and then register your players - this will allow you to see details of all of your players under your account.

SENIOR registrations will be open after 9-March-2022 and more information will be sent out to players as soon as it is available.

JUNIOR registrations will not be open until 02-April-2022 and games will begin 7-May-2022

Rangiora Masters during Summer

Rangiora's two Masters mens teams have just completed the summer season, with solid performances in their respective grades.  This season was split into two competitions - two divisions played for 9 weeks prior to Christmas, while 3 divisions played for 5 weeks in the New Year.

Rangiora One finished both competitions in 3rd place behind Carlton Redcliffs and Southern United in Div 1.  A highlight was the 1-1 draw against Carlton in the pre-Christmas competition, which Carlton went on to win, and finishing the season with a solid 3-1 win over Ashburton on their home turf.

Rangiora Two (pictured) started their season well with two early wins but struggled to score in the close games which led to some narrow losses and 5th place in Div 2 pre-Christmas.  It was much the same story in the New Year with an early win then a string of draws in games the team could have (and probably should have) won, leaving them in 4th spot.  The team did earn themselves a good win in the last game against Marist to finish their season on a high.

ABOUT US...

The Rangiora Hockey Club is one of New Zealand's oldest hockey clubs, and in recent years has become one of Canterbury's fastest growing sports clubs.  From just 6 teams in 2010 the Rangiora Hockey Club has grown to boast 26 teams in the 2020 winter season, and with the recent construction of an international quality water-turf and a mini-turf in Rangiora this growth looks set to continue.

UMPIRES

As a growing club we are always looking to foster the development of our umpires across all levels of hockey - and this is only going to become more important as CHA develops its city-based facilities.  While we have a strong junior umpire programme, we still need more umpires to assist at our senior grades.  If you think you can help out, please use the link below to find out more...
